Prayers for Christians in Iraq and Syria

Here is a chilling video describing what is going on right now in Iraq.

And more information here just in from Canon Andrew White.

This prayer from Archbishop Foley will be a helpful guide for us as we intercede for our brothers and sisters.

Heavenly Father, we bring before you today the people of Syria and Iraq, asking you to be their defender and help in their time of need. Walk with them in their suffering and loss, and give them strength to face the days ahead.  We pray for release of the captives and freedom for those held hostage.  We pray for your intervention against the violence and evil against your people. We pray for your provision for the hungry, the homeless, and the bereaved. We pray for you to help your people who are called by your Name, Jesus’ Name, and it is in His Name we ask these things.  Amen.

Elizabeth Wolfe and Luke Darville in Concert

Many of you know Elizabeth Wolfe from St Andrews.  This invitation comes from her.  It should be a wonderful concert.

Hello St. Peter’s Family,

We are now 4 days into the trip! It’s amazing how you come expecting to help other people, but God uses them to show you something. While being here I am truly astonished at the things I take for granted on a daily basis. So far, we have painted playground equipment at the orphanage, picked up trash, distributed food in town, and mostly loved on God’s beautiful children in this orphanage and they have definitely shown us love back. I have attached some pictures. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts! I cannot wait to share more after returning!!

With Love and Blessings,
Lauren Colston
